Sandwich is a celebration of the not so humble sandwich. Each issue features a particular sandwich, like the lobster roll, or BLT and mixes photos, interviews and cultural reportage to get inside it.

This issue is a special 'take over' issue with guest editors, Tunde Way and Ruth Gebreyesus.
Rather than a physical sandwich, they present a conceptual sandwich - the 'African Scramble' - a newly minted term used to talk about the difficult intercontinental relationship between Africa and the West. The issue is divided into six chapters, each of which explores one of the 'ingredients' of the African Scramble sandwich, from first contact and trade to slavery, colonialism and revolution.
