The Simple Things December Issue 90
Our kind of Christmas... A feast to share. Time for yourself. Baking together. Parties to remember. Watching old favourites. Scenery & greenery. Homemade crackers. Community carolling. Drinks & nibbles. Giving good presents. Playing silly games
DECEMBER is a month of preparation and anticipation, which can lead to high tension and hectic times. But this isn’t the only way to make it through the month of midwinter. Think instead of it as a time of giving; of presents, yes, but also of time for others and for yourself, and of time to make and bake, finding contentment in the busyness of a Christmas project.
There are treats for you too – a special print of our ‘The Night Before Christmas’ cover illustration by Rohan Eason (p34) And printed gift tags that you designed, ready to cut out and use (p98)
Whatever makes Christmas for you, we wish you a merry time

Taking time to live well

The Simple Things is published monthly and is all about taking time to live well.

We celebrate slowing down, enjoying what you have, making the most of where you live, enjoying the company of of friends and family, and feeding them well. We like to grow some of our own vegetables, visit local markets, rummage for vintage finds, and decorate our home with the plunder. We love being outdoors and enjoy the satisfaction that comes with a job well done.

And we like to think that the small things we do will make a difference in the long run – whether that’s making, upcycling, growing, cooking, entertaining, escaping or relaxing.
