February can bring out the introvert in all of us, when the urge to hunker down is strong. Allowing ourselves to give in to the cosy temptations of home is much needed; cooking that soothes, lamp-lit rooms, the comfort of a cat (or two) and a gentle armchair project. Early in the new year is also a good time to take stock of our own wellbeing – perhaps try a Tarot tea party as a prompt to think about your plans and emotions differently? But in order to use this time to heal well we also need to look beyond snug pastimes and into the wider world. It’s lucky then that this month offers celebrations involving valentines or pancakes and festivals from Candlemas to Carnival, Imbolc to Lunar New Year. These events give us opportunities to remember, respect or adopt customs and traditions that see us seeking out social nourishment. From there it’s a small step to making changes, nurturing feelgood friendships and maybe even joining a community project. We don’t need to wait for spring to put a spring in our step.

PLEASE NOTE: Copies will be posted from Wednesday 28 January along with other items in the same order.
