Abitare 649

Abitare is a Italian magazine about everything art, architecture and design. It contains, side by side, both its original Italian as well as English translated text among photographs of stunningly unusual buildings and art projects from around the world.

From the publisher:

Highlights include a special feature on Tirana, where more than one hundred skyscrapers are under construction, designed by over fifty large firms; the new headquarters of the Lombard Odier private bank on Lake Geneva, designed by Swiss duo Herzog & de Meuron; projects by London-based studio Gustafson Porter + Bowman, parks and public spaces characterized by their slow growth, in synergy with the context and the community; and the industrial-style creations of Belgian designer Arnaud Eubelen.

Among the houses, the residence by Atelier About Architecture in Beijing, where changes of level, prospects and perspectives are intertwined giving rise to varied and highly atmospheric scenery; the contemporary extension of a Georgian villa on the east coast of Ireland, created by interior designer Róisín Lafferty, with Dublin Design Studio; the pied-à-terre ‘sculpted’ by Henry Timi in Milan.

The dossiers feature wellness-oriented office furniture and increasingly versatile and high-performance lighting systems.
