Enki Volume 36
Enki is a monthly design and architecture magazine with a focus on sustainability, showcasing modern designers and architects from around the world.
What grabbed us about this issue…
Volume 36 takes the self-build as its focus and the timing feels deliberate. Recent planning reforms give the issue a practical edge alongside the architecture. We enjoyed the re-imagined grain store in Norfolk. An agricultural structure brought into a new life is a particular kind of self-build brief. The development built into excavated rock on Formentera is also worth finding. It makes the case that low impact and high ambition are not mutually exclusive.
Who’s Enki for?
With its minimalist design and neutral colour palette, Enki is one to reach for when you want to ease into the world of design and architecture. It’s better suited to those with an existing interest in modern design, particularly if you’re looking to bring elements of the seasons and natural materials into your home. Whether you flick through with a cup of tea on a Sunday afternoon or read it cover to cover, it’s one to pick up when you’re in the mood for something calm and considered.
