What grabbed us about this issue...
Issue 6 opens with the last of England’s Vikings and sets the tone for an issue full of things nearly lost. We enjoyed the feature on recreating a lost ale alongside it. The effort to bring something back from historical records alone is a particular kind of obsession. The Great Exhibition inventions piece is also worth seeking out. Unexpected discoveries from 1851 say as much about what we thought the future would look like as what it actually became.
