FOLKLIFE Volume 14
Published twice a year, Folklife is a slow-living magazine from Canada inspired by those who live close to the earth, with intention and creativity.
What grabbed us about this issue…
This is the 'Hunger' issue, turning its attention to the things that feed us. We liked how this issue takes its theme both literally and metaphorically. There's lots of nourishing recipes to try, like barbecued carrots. And, for a more emotive read, Folklife asks 'what do you hunger for?'. It goes beyond black and white thinking, celebrating what happens when community comes together around food.
Who's Folklife for?
There's a real sense of intention behind Folklife, made for those who find themselves drawn to quieter, more grounded ways of living. It reads more like a literary journal than a lifestyle magazine, with longer pieces that ask you to sit with an idea rather than scan and move on. This would suit you if you're looking for something that goes a little deeper, less surface inspiration and more genuine reflection. It's one to settle into with a warm drink when you want to spend some real time with the natural world.
