Inside this issue...
This edition "black skew 02 - tokyo in transit" focuses on the rich visual language of Tokyo's urban environment, especially its complex transport graphics and signage systems. It investigates how everyday visual information, from subway maps and tactile paving to pedestrian signs, billboards, and airport wayfinding, shapes movement and experience in the city. Blending documentary research with creative response, the issue not only records the graphic density of Tokyo's public spaces but reimagines it through design, photography and visual exploration.
Black Skew 02 was presented in Tokyo at the Tokyo Art Book Fair 2025.
