Sidetracked Volume 37
Released three times a year, Sidetracked is a journal of incredible tales of endurance, adventure and exploration accompanied by stunning photography of some of the most remote places in the world.
What grabbed us about this issue...
We were drawn to a couple of articles that both feature women photographers and their connection to remote communities in Mongolia and Tibet. Claire Thomas returns to the same valley in the Altai mountains to notice the changing way of life for local families as technology mixes with the traditions of horsemanship and hunting. Cat Vinton speaks about her many years living on the road, capturing the stories of nomadic communities across the world including her most recent journey following the ancient salt-for-grain trade route from Tibet to Nepal.
Who is Sidetracked for?
Sidetracked is not your regular travel magazine. It explores the roads less travelled and the adventurers who travel them, as they take on extreme weather conditions and intense physical challenges. Most reads are a few pages long, so are best enjoyed when you can settle in and take your time with each article. To get a better sense of the journeys featured, a bit of extra research may help with the specialist language connected to some of the activities, such as climbing.
