What grabbed us about this issue...
The annual art issue celebrates the collaborations between artists and the worlds of fashion and design. There’s a real sense of support amongst creatives in this edition. As part of a programme to broaden access to contemporary art, British painter Beryl Cook’s well-known love of shopping has been honoured at Bicester Village in Oxfordshire. A mile-long installation of characters from Cook’s paintings and a pop-up shop allow shoppers to become familiar with her work. We were drawn to the intricate textiles created by Swiss fashion house Akris for an autumn/winter collaboration with textile artist Olga de Amaral. Both like to work intuitively and let the material decide how it wants to be used.
