Enki Volume 35

Enki is a monthly design and architecture magazine with a focus on sustainability, showcasing modern designers and architects from around the world.

What grabbed us about this issue…

Volume 35 takes sustainable living as its thread and the Icelandic cabin grounds it immediately. Planted roofs and staggered foundations designed around the terrain give the project a rigour that goes beyond aesthetic. We enjoyed the modular Faroese cabin alongside it. Glass portals in a structure that nods to a specific vernacular tradition is an unusual combination and it works. If you’re interested in how concrete and timber can share a building honestly, the East London project is worth seeking out.

Who’s Enkifor?

With its minimalist design and neutral colour palette,Enkiis one to reach for when you want to ease into the world of design and architecture. It’s better suited to those with an existing interest in modern design, particularly if you’re looking to bring elements of the seasons and natural materials into your home. Whether you flick through with a cup of tea on a Sunday afternoon or read it cover to cover, it’s one to pick up when you’re in the mood for something calm and considered.
