Art Monthly No. 457 June 2022

Published ten times a year, Art Monthly is a UK contemporary art magazine written entirely by independent critics.

Who's Art Monthly for?

Art Monthly is one for when you want criticism rather than coverage. Published in bold black and white, it has the feel of something that values the argument over the image. You can tell this is written for people who already spend time in galleries. The critics are independent, which gives the reviews a sharpness that house-style publications tend to soften. This would suit you if you prefer your art writing long and without lifestyle framing. It's one to reach for on a slow afternoon when you want to feel properly inside the conversation.
