Beau

Beau Magazine Issue 11

An eclectic and optimistic guide to wellbeing, sustainability and creativity,Beau is a quarterly magazine published in France.

What grabbed us about this issue…

The Maurizio Cattelan feature is worth finding. The artist behind the banana is a more considered subject than his reputation suggests and the interview treats him accordingly. We also kept coming back to the Robert Redford piece. Having novelist Anne Pauly tell his story rather than a journalist is an unusual editorial choice and it shows. The Proust dating app is the one to look out for if you want something lighter. It reimagines France's most famous writer as the basis for a books-based matchmaking service.

Who’s Beau for?

Beau looks to people making a positive difference and shares their stories across its pages. You can tell it’s committed to its optimistic, activism-led approach, with each issue printed in vegetable ink on paper sourced from sustainably managed European forests. This would suit you if you’re interested in climate and social justice and want to spend time with stories that focus on progress. Whether you read it cover to cover or dip in and out, it’s one to pick up when you want something thoughtful but still easy to settle into.
