Extra Teeth

Extra Teeth Issue 11

Published biannually, Extra Teeth champions new fiction and non-fiction writing from Scotland and beyond.

What grabbed us about this issue…

Issue 11 brings together twelve short stories and essays connected by the themes of boldness and agency. We kept coming back to 'The Story of a Day in a Town Where the Priest Chose to Strike'. If you're after something more reflective, you might enjoy 'Look at my Husband'. The stories have been illustrated by Glasgow-based artist Agnes Boman, which gives each piece a distinctly personal feel.

Who's Extra Teeth for?

Extra Teeth would suit you if you enjoy literature and are open to playful, experimental fiction. They celebrate 'words with bite', so the writing feels genuinely quirky - writers here push at styles you're unlikely to find in a traditional literary magazine. There's a real sense of craft to the object itself, with colourful design and custom illustration throughout. It's one to reach for when you want to read outside your comfort zone.
