Frieze

Frieze Issue 257

Launched in 1991, Frieze is a magazine of contemporary arts and culture with a permanent gallery space in London and art fairs in London, New York, L.A and Seoul.

Why we love it...

We love how each issue has a unique cover, features profiles and reportage on art and artists, exhibition reviews and cultural news from around the world.

What's inside?

This issue of Friezeis titled ‘The Gulf Issue’, an area frequently spotlighted for its geopolitical importance. However, this issue takes a differing, more personal stance and delves into the lives of writers and artists working and living in this region.

We hear from artist Monira Al Qadiri about how her childhood experiences of war and ecological disaster in Kuwait has influenced and shaped her myth-driven practice. There is also an exciting roundtable feature discussing the meanings and potentials of Gulf Futurism.
