Dàme

Dàme Issue 3

Dàme is a bilingual Italian magazine in which women discuss their experiences of their bodies, working towards normalisation and acceptance.

What grabbed us about this issue...

Issue 3 takes hair as its subject and goes considerably deeper than you might expect. Alopecia, the hijab, afro hair and greying all sit alongside each other here, which gives the issue an unusually broad cultural range. The piece on redheads is worth seeking out too. It’s the less obvious inclusion and it earns its place.

Who’s Dàme for?

Dàme is one for when you want a magazine that takes the female experience seriously without being prescriptive about it. Each issue takes a single part of the body as its focus, using it as a starting point for wider conversations about culture, identity and representation. Published in both Italian and English, every feature appears in full in both languages. This would suit you if you’re drawn to personal writing that connects individual experience to something broader. Think of it as a cultural conversation rather than a lifestyle read. It’s one to reach for when you want to feel genuinely seen by what you’re reading.
