Extra Teeth

Extra Teeth Issue 7

Published biannually, Extra Teeth champions new fiction and non-fiction writing from Scotland and beyond.

What grabbed us about this issue…

Issue 7 leads with Michel Faber’s first new adult fiction in ten years. It’s a significant return and Extra Teeth earns the commission. We enjoyed how the issue frames that alongside emerging Scottish writers rather than letting the bigger name dominate. Morvern Graham’s blockwork illustration gives the whole thing a strong visual identity that holds the range together.

Who's Extra Teeth for?

Extra Teeth would suit you if you enjoy literature and are open to playful, experimental fiction. They celebrate 'words with bite', so the writing feels genuinely quirky - writers here push at styles you're unlikely to find in a traditional literary magazine. There's a real sense of craft to the object itself, with colourful design and custom illustration throughout. It's one to reach for when you want to read outside your comfort zone.
