Good Place

Good Place Issue 2

Good Place is a travel magazine for the endlessly curious, bringing together unusual destinations and experiences from the former editorial team behind Lonely Planet magazine.

What grabbed us about this issue...

Issue 2 opens in Svalbard and we enjoyed how an abandoned Soviet mining town sets the tone for a magazine interested in the less obvious destination. If you’re interested in food as a way into a city’s history, the feature charting New York’s culinary story through its oldest restaurants is worth seeking out. We also kept coming back to the King’s Highway in Jordan. One of the world’s oldest trade routes makes for a different kind of road trip feature and Good Place gives it the space it deserves.

Who’s Good Place for?

Good Place is one for when you want travel writing that goes somewhere most guides don’t. Each issue brings together longer features alongside shorter dispatches from less expected corners of the world. You can tell this is made by people who have spent careers thinking seriously about travel and what it’s actually for. This would suit you if you’re drawn to destinations chosen for their stories rather than their familiarity. Think of it as a quarterly invitation to go somewhere you hadn’t considered. It’s one to reach for when you want to feel genuinely curious about the world again.
