Wyrd Science

Wyrd Science #8

Wyrd Science  is a quarterly magazine with in-depth articles and interviews that discuss and review all types of tabletop games.

What grabbed us about this issue...
We were drawn to the role-playing game Riverbank, which takes its cues from stories like The Wind in the Willows and the work of Beatrix Potter. Rather than high-stakes battles, the focus of this game shifts to quieter dramas, from jam-making contests to the challenge of hosting awkward relatives. There’s also a look back at the history of role-playing zines and magazines, tracing how these communities formed before the internet.

Who is Wyrd Science for?
This would suit you if you’re interested in games, whether that’s role play games, war games or more traditional board game formats. It leans towards a longer, more considered read with background woven in to help you find your way if you’re newer to the subject. Alongside this, the review section contains shorter pieces if you've only got five minutes to spare.
