Issue 45 explores our love of the new, asking whether we’re stuck in an endless loop of buying things, scrolling for fresh information and chasing the next big thing. It’s a theme that feels very familiar, and it makes you look twice at your own habits. This issue also marks a change in look for the magazine, with editor Antonia Case taking on the role of art director. You can see the difference straight away on the cover, which features an illustration by Alvaro Hidalgo in place of the usual crisp, graphic design.

Don't be put off by the title - New Philosopheris good for those new to philosophy as well as the more experienced. You can see the thinking that goes into each issue, with longer interviews sitting alongside shorter reads and visual infographics. The layout gives you room to breathe between each piece, so you can dip in and cherry-pick based on your interests. It's one to savour on a quiet afternoon, when you have the time to think a little more.
