Released three times a year, Sidetracked is a journal of incredible tales of endurance, adventure and exploration accompanied by stunning photography of some of the most remote places in the world.
What grabbed us about this issue...
Soft Handsrecalls a hard journey to isolated Shadey in Ladakh, India. With the help of a local guide, Himanshu Vats travels to the remote mountain village to learn from the gentle community who battle to grow all their crops within a three-month window of mild weather. The comradeship of four women on a free climbing expedition in Kyrgyzstan gave us lots to reflect on, after learning about their fears and insecurities surrounding the trip.
Who is Sidetracked for?
Sidetracked is not your regular travel magazine. It explores the roads less travelled and the adventurers who travel them, as they take on extreme weather conditions and intense physical challenges. Most reads are a few pages long, so are best enjoyed when you can settle in and take your time with each article. To get a better sense of the journeys featured, a bit of extra research may help with the specialist language connected to some of the activities, such as climbing.
