Disegno

Disegno #34

Published quarterly, Disegno is an independent magazine dedicated to in-depth reporting on architecture, design and fashion.

What grabbed us about this issue...

Issue 34 has an unusually broad register, from architecture’s unionisation movement to condom production inside a Danish cheese factory. Architecture’s slow path to organising gets the frontline report it deserves here. Auroville is the other piece that stays with you. We were interested in a utopian community being pulled apart by its own galactic masterplan.

Who’s Disegno for?

Disegno is one for when you want design writing that treats the subject as a political and cultural force. Each issue moves between architecture, fashion and design without privileging one field over another. The writing is long-form and independent. This would suit you if you’re already engaged with design culture and want criticism that keeps pace with that thinking. Think of it as a quarterly journal of design ideas rather than a showcase. It’s one to reach for when you want to feel properly inside the debate.
