Luncheon

LUNCHEON no. 11

Luncheon is a free spirited biannual magazine blending art, fashion and food.  Each issue is structured like a menu, with mini aperitifs and long lunch style conversations with artists, writers, photographers and chefs across all generations, sharing their views and insights on life, art and food.

What grabbed us about this issue…

Issue 11 has a strong focus on art and photography, and it comes with three different covers to choose from. We kept coming back to the work of Houston photographer Earlie Hudnall Jr., whose images capture community life with real warmth. If you’re into painting, you might enjoy discovering Lebanese artist Nabil Nahas, known for his richly textured canvases. Collectors will also love the cover options, which include a 1970s illustration by Tomi Ungerer and Paolo Roversi’s photograph of artist June Leaf’s teapot.

Who’s Luncheon for?

Luncheon is one for when you want to slow down and savour a good conversation. Each issue is laid out like a menu, starting with short, snackable pieces before settling into long, unhurried conversations with artists, writers and chefs of all ages. There’s a real sense of curiosity running through it, with fashion photography and painting sitting comfortably alongside talk of food and life. It’s less a cookery magazine and more a celebration of the conversations that happen around the table, so this would suit you if you’re interested in art and fashion and enjoy the company of interesting people. Think of it as a long lunch in print, best enjoyed over a lazy weekend or kept close by for when you have an afternoon to yourself.
