Luncheon

LUNCHEON no. 14

Luncheon is a free spirited biannual magazine blending art, fashion and food.  Each issue is structured like a menu, with mini aperitifs and long lunch style conversations with artists, writers, photographers and chefs across all generations, sharing their views and insights on life, art and food.

What grabbed us about this issue…

This Autumn/Winter issue blends fashion history with a good dose of fun. We kept coming back to Tom Hanbury’s visit to Fawley Bottom, the farmhouse home of artists John and Myfanwy Piper, which is worth a look if you love peeking into creative lives. If you’re into fashion, you might enjoy the ode to Issey Miyake, featuring a scent bottle photographed by Irving Penn. There’s also a poetic conversation between Mustafa the Poet and Adrian Joffe of Comme des Garçons that brings together two very different creative worlds.

Who’s Luncheon for?

Luncheon is one for when you want to slow down and savour a good conversation. Each issue is laid out like a menu, starting with short, snackable pieces before settling into long, unhurried conversations with artists, writers and chefs of all ages. There’s a real sense of curiosity running through it, with fashion photography and painting sitting comfortably alongside talk of food and life. It’s less a cookery magazine and more a celebration of the conversations that happen around the table, so this would suit you if you’re interested in art and fashion and enjoy the company of interesting people. Think of it as a long lunch in print, best enjoyed over a lazy weekend or kept close by for when you have an afternoon to yourself.
