New Humanist

New Humanist Autumn 2024

First published in 1885, New Humanist is a quarterly magazine of ideas, science and culture.

What grabbed us about this issue…

This Autumn 2024 issue covers everything from health and education to pop culture. We kept coming back to comedian Richard Herring’s honest reflections on life after his cancer diagnosis, written with the warmth and humour he’s known for. If you’re curious about fandom, you might enjoy a look at the devotion surrounding Taylor Swift. There’s also a piece on what it would actually take to film a fake moon landing that’s worth a look if you enjoy seeing a conspiracy theory put to the test.

Who's New Humanist for?

New Humanistis one for when you're seeking a bit more connection to the world around you. Think of it as a way to stay across the latest ideas in science, politics and culture, with articles that don't assume much prior knowledge. It's one to reach for when you have a bit of time to yourself - the crossword at the back is worth saving room for too!
