Pom Pom

PomPom Issue 29

pompom is a quarterly magazine for knitters and crocheters, with seasonal designs, patterns and instructions.

What grabbed us about this issue...

This summer issue takes its cue from ceramic tiles and sun-baked terracotta, with nine light designs in earthy shades and repeating patterns. We kept coming back to Arounna Khounnoraj's tutorial on block-printing your own fabric, which is worth a look if you fancy a break from yarn on warmer days. If you're interested in the wider conversation around craft, you might enjoy an interview with Emi Ito on creativity and cultural appropriation. This issue also marks a change for the magazine, with extra pages and a wider size range for some patterns.

Who is pompom for?

If you are already a knitter or a crochet, pompom is a great magazine to own for inspiration and patterns for your next project. If you're picking up yarn for the first time, we'd recommend learning the basics first before jumping into one of these projects, but the patterns are clearly laid out and easy to follow when you're ready. We like how pompom encourages you to keep fibre crafts as an analogue hobby and alternative to looking for patterns online where you can easily get distracted by other things.
