Pom Pom

Pompom Issue 33

pompom is a quarterly magazine for knitters and crocheters, with seasonal designs, patterns and instructions.

What grabbed us about this issue...

This summer issue takes the sun as its theme, with a collection of light knit and crochet pieces in warm, energetic colours. It's also a little unusual as it comes with two different covers, though the inside is exactly the same whichever one you receive. We kept coming back to Marjan Gouda's scrunchie pattern, which comes with a crochet tutorial and feels like a fun, quick make for warmer days. If you enjoy cooking alongside crafting, you might like Kat Goldin's recipe for handmade pasta with sun-dried tomatoes.

Who is pompom for?

If you are already a knitter or a crochet, pompom is a great magazine to own for inspiration and patterns for your next project. If you're picking up yarn for the first time, we'd recommend learning the basics first before jumping into one of these projects, but the patterns are clearly laid out and easy to follow when you're ready. We like how pompom encourages you to keep fibre crafts as an analogue hobby and alternative to looking for patterns online where you can easily get distracted by other things.
