Pom Pom

Pompom Issue 43

pompom is a quarterly magazine for knitters and crocheters, with seasonal designs, patterns and instructions.

What grabbed us about this issue...

Issue 43 takes its inspiration from two women artists, Lebanese-American painter Etel Adnan and Swedish abstract pioneer Hilma af Klint. You can see their influence in the winter collection of 10 patterns, which borrow Adnan's bold landscape colours and af Klint's interest in shape and perspective. If you're into colourwork, you might enjoy the more challenging designs that play with pattern in unexpected ways. It's also worth a look if you're after a slower project to settle into on a dark winter evening.

Who is pompom for?

If you are already a knitter or a crochet, pompom is a great magazine to own for inspiration and patterns for your next project. If you're picking up yarn for the first time, we'd recommend learning the basics first before jumping into one of these projects, but the patterns are clearly laid out and easy to follow when you're ready. We like how pompom encourages you to keep fibre crafts as an analogue hobby and alternative to looking for patterns online where you can easily get distracted by other things.
