Pom Pom

Pompom Issue 39

pompom is a quarterly magazine for knitters and crocheters, with seasonal designs, patterns and instructions.

What grabbed us about this issue...

Issue 39 takes rhythm as its theme, with a winter collection of knit and crochet patterns that turn sound into stitches. We kept coming back to the way the designers have made music visible, with motifs inspired by written scores and the shapes of soundwaves. If you enjoy getting into a steady groove, you might like the patterns built around repeating motifs. Colourwork fans will also find the subtle shifts in shade worth a look, as they echo the gradual changes in a piece of music.

Who is pompom for?

If you are already a knitter or a crochet, pompom is a great magazine to own for inspiration and patterns for your next project. If you're picking up yarn for the first time, we'd recommend learning the basics first before jumping into one of these projects, but the patterns are clearly laid out and easy to follow when you're ready. We like how pompom encourages you to keep fibre crafts as an analogue hobby and alternative to looking for patterns online where you can easily get distracted by other things.
