Enki Volume 40

Enki is a monthly design and architecture magazine with a focus on sustainability, showcasing modern designers and architects from around the world.

What grabbed us about this issue…

Volume 40 opens with a helix-shaped lookout point in a Danish UNESCO park. We enjoyed how a single piece of public architecture can reframe the landscape around it. The Norfolk outbuilding renovation is worth finding alongside the grander projects. A modest structure that turned into a successful holiday business is a more relatable story and the issue gives it equal weight. If you’re interested in building in extreme climates, the family ski base constructed from stone ruins in Italy is also worth seeking out.

Who’s Enkifor?

With its minimalist design and neutral colour palette,Enkiis one to reach for when you want to ease into the world of design and architecture. It’s better suited to those with an existing interest in modern design, particularly if you’re looking to bring elements of the seasons and natural materials into your home. Whether you flick through with a cup of tea on a Sunday afternoon or read it cover to cover, it’s one to pick up when you’re in the mood for something calm and considered.
