Enki Volume 68

Enki is a monthly design and architecture magazine with a focus on sustainability, showcasing modern designers and architects from around the world.

What grabbed us about this issue…

Volume 68 opens with Ha Architecture’s reconfiguration of a heritage-listed interwar bungalow. We enjoyed how Japanese design principles sit against the 1930s Australian bones of the building. If you’re interested in one-off commissions, the canine hydrotherapy centre reworked into Helen Orrock’s long-imagined black box is worth finding. It’s not a brief most architects would know what to do with. We also kept coming back to James Day’s investigation into the rise of the printed home. It gives the technology section a more forward-looking register than the usual product roundup.

Who’s Enkifor?

With its minimalist design and neutral colour palette,Enkiis one to reach for when you want to ease into the world of design and architecture. It’s better suited to those with an existing interest in modern design, particularly if you’re looking to bring elements of the seasons and natural materials into your home. Whether you flick through with a cup of tea on a Sunday afternoon or read it cover to cover, it’s one to pick up when you’re in the mood for something calm and considered.
